Laura is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) providing therapy for children, adolescents, and families and is the owner of Hye Tide Counseling. She has expertise in the assessment of development, learning, and social-emotional challenges in children and adolescents. Her areas of specialty include ADHD, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, executive functioning, and school-related challenges. Laura has extensive experience with IEP development, teacher consultation, counseling, and assessment in school settings. Laura grew up in the Philadelphia area and moved to Virginia where she received her bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Roanoke College in 2005. In 2007, she received her Master’s in Social Work (MSW) from Boston College Graduate School of Social Work. She began her career working for South Shore Mental Health as a school-based clinician. Laura moved to the North Shore in 2013, where she continued her career as a School Adjustment Counselor working within school settings servicing students from elementary through high school. She later continued her career working as an individual therapist within a pediatric practice in the North Shore supporting children, young, and families with ongoing mental health needs. Over the past 15 years, Laura has provided individual treatment targeting social skills, behavior regulation modifications, anxiety management, supporting families navigating IEP’s and 504 plans, providing crisis response, and ongoing mental health management. Laura is a solution-focused clinician and is passionate about helping children and families find their “hye.”
